CPFS Awarded VA Fee Processing Project for VA Southern Nevada

CPFS has been awarded a contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada VA Medical Center to perform fee claims processing. The contract goal is to assist the facility in processing their backlog of claims. The VA Fee Basis Program ensures that payments for Non-VA care are processed in a timely manner for services received by veterans from Non-VA providers.

CPFS has been selected to provide coding and billing audit services for the seven facilities comprising VISN 12, The VA Great Lakes Health Care System. Our audit will include review of both coding and billing documentation for outpatient medical service encounters.

CPFS Awarded Two Emergency Medical Coding Contracts

CPFS has been selected to provide medical coding services for two sites within VA's VISN 22, VA Greater Los Angeles and VA Long Beach. We are provide remote ambulatory coding services for both sites with the goal of eliminating their coding backlog before fiscal year end.

CPFS Awarded Medical Billing Contract

CPFS has been selected as the sub-contractor to provide medical billing services for the VA Phoenix, Carl T. Hayden Medical Center. The goal of this project is to eliminate the current backlog of unprocessed bills. VA Patient Financial Service is responsible for the thrid party billing of insurance for services received by veterans at the VA medical center.

CPFS was featured in an ADVANCE sidebar, Coding Can Offer Veterans A Fresh Start, in their issue dedicated to military spouses dated January 28, 2008. In the article, company President, Carin D. Wieters, explains why coding is an excellent occupation for military members transitioning to the civilian sector. Remote coding opportunites could be especially helpful for those veterans that may not be able to return to a more traditional office setting.

CPFS Attends MacDill AFB SDVOSB Expo November 14, 2007
The 6th Contracting Squadron at MacDill AFB in partnership with US Special Operations Command Acquisition and Logistics hosted an SDVOSB Industry Expo. The focus of the Expo was to reiterate commitment and interest regarding the inclusion of SDVOSB entities in acquisition programs; in an effort to reach out to SDVO small businesses, encourage their growth, and create more procurement opportunities for mutual success.

Congress Passes Bill Expanding Contracting Opportunities for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and Woman Owned Small Business November 1, 2007
On October 30, 2007 the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3867, it was further passed by the Senate as S 2300 IS on November 1, 2007 and provides stronger language for ensuring contracting opportunties are provided to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and requiring SBA to fully implment a Woman Owned Small Business program by identifiying industries where woman owned businesses are under-represented.

CPFS Awarded VA Alaska Fee Schedule Project September 27, 2007
CPFS has been awarded a contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Administration Center (VA HAC) to perform the VA Alaska Fee Schedule Update. The contract will begin November 2007 for the 2008 Fee Schedule, with four additional option years. The Alaska Fee Schedule ensures that amounts paid to non-VA health care providers is equitable while practicing cost containment for VA Fee services.
